Victor Hamer

Victor Hamer joined B12 Consulting in November 2022 as an Associate, working primarily as a data scientist and backend developer.

Victor obtained his Master's degree in Civil Engineering in Computer Science from UCLouvain in 2018, combining an option in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with an option in Software Engineering. He pursued a Ph.D. in Machine Learning entitled "Feature Selection Stability: Estimation and Optimization", which he successfully defended in 2022. Before joining B12 Consulting, Victor co-founded and worked as a backend manager for a small business that developed a smartphone application that promotes local trade.

His main areas of expertise are Data Science and backend development. He particularly enjoys building innovative Artificial Intelligence solutions. His problem-solving ability and his experience in both Data Science and software development are great assets for effectively deploying these solutions.

For one of his projects at B12, Victor worked on information extraction from legal documents. This includes the in-house fine-tuning of Large Language Models (LLMs) and effectively using the openAI API. In addition, he played a pivotal role in building the backend infrastructure using Django. Victor also actively contributed to a research effort focused on developing a Machine Learning based cybersecurity tool, demonstrating his commitment to advancing technological solutions.

He is passionate about Formula 1, Korean food and theoretical physics, which led him to complete a minor in physics during his bachelor's degree. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, driving go-karts and playing board games.
